There will be a memorial service for Tim Dudley at 2.30 pm on Saturday 12 May at Tideswell Parish Church, with light refreshments afterwards in the Institute. All are welcome. Local news... Fighting Cancer

Vernon Watson, well known-gardener in the village, will be selling garden products, from home in aid of Western Park Cancer Hospital.
Hanging Baskets, refill baskets, bedding plants, garden ornaments, pots (filled) planters (handmade) alongside a bric-a-brac stall will all help raise funds for Western Park where his late wife, Denise, spent 10 weeks.
Vernon would like to take this opportunity of thanking everybody for their kind thoughts and words of comfort on behalf of his family up here and family in Cornwall.

Local news... Remembrance Day 2018

Every year the Parish Council, along with the help of many of you, organise the Remembrance Parade. This year marks the 100 year anniversary of the end of WW1.
We would like to speak to any groups or individuals who have plans to mark the anniversary in any way.

Hi Pete,I am the publicity person for Bamford Community Arts & Crafts and I picked up your magazine at the George while attending Tideswell Cinema on Wednesday. BCAC is a registered charity run by volunteers. Our next event in Bamford features two local singing groups, one of which – Drowsy Sleepers – is led by Carol Bowns who, as you will know, is musical director of The Tideswell Singers. Remarks

A memorable month. Very cold, very wet and very dull. It was the second coldest March in my 10-year record (March 2013 is the coldest).The mean temp for the month was 0.7° lower than the mean temp for Jan 2018. By a considerable margin it was the wettest March that I have recorded. The previous wettest was March 2016 with 122.1 mm. The number of rain days and wet days were the highest that I have recorded in March. Also by a considerable margin, it was the least sunny March that I have recorded. The previous lowest was March 2013 with 57.5 hours. It was the 2^nd snowiest March (after March 2013) that I have recorded.
